PARTISIPASI POLITIK MASYARAKAT DALAM PEMILIHAN UMUM CALON PRESIDEN TAHUN 2024 DI DESA NDIKOSAPU, KECAMATAN LEPEMBUSU KELISOKE, KABUPATEN ENDE

Abstract

This article aims to examine the political participation of the people of Ndikosapu Village, Lepembusu Kelisoke District, Ende Regency, in the 2024 Presidential Election. The focus of the study is to understand the forms of political participation and the factors that influence it. The theoretical framework used is the Political Participation Theory by Gabriel Almond, which includes six indicators: voting, political discussion, involvement in campaigns, political awareness, trust in government, and the influence of social conditions. Voting reflects the activity of choosing through the voting mechanism at the polling station (TPS), while political discussion describes conversations related to political issues. Campaign activities include efforts to convey the vision and mission of candidates, while political awareness refers to an individual's understanding of the rights and obligations as a citizen. Trust in the government shows people's attitudes towards the implementation of elections, and social conditions include factors that can support or hinder political participation. This study uses a qualitative method, with data collection techniques in the form of interviews and documentation. The research findings show that although the level of political participation in the 2024 Presidential Election decreased compared to the 2019 Presidential Election, the number of voters actually increased. Based on these results, it can be concluded that the people of Ndikosapu Village have quite good political awareness, as seen from their active participation in the 2024 presidential and vice presidential elections. This finding shows the importance of social factors and trust in the government in influencing the political participation of local people.
